It’s the annual oyster festival at Legal Sea Foods, one of my favorite area events that promises lots of mouthwatering shells and creative concoctions.
Appetizer features: Oyster stew, pickled oysters, oysters and bacon on melted leek sriracha toast, smoked oyster spread, Oysters Legal, and fried oysters with cassia salt and lime.
Lunch/Dinner features: Oyster and andouille sausage Jambalaya, oyster po’ boy, and oyster, mushroom, spinach pie with green salad.
Upcoming events include the “Oyster Brewhaha Beer Dinner” Wednesday, Oct. 12, 6:30 – 9 p.m. at the Copley Place – a four-course oyster and craft beer dinner, hosted by Craig Corthell from Craft Brewers Guild at $65 per person.
The bivalve celebration culminates Saturday, Oct. 15, with on the all-weather roof-deck at the new Legal Harborside. “Bivalves & Bubbles” will feature an extravagant raw bar with a variety of oysters paired with champagne 12-2 p.m. There will also be oyster tutorials via Legal Sea Foods’ growers and scores of oyster-centric passed hors d’oeuvres. All at a hefty but worthy $80 per person.
Because all Legal Sea Foods locations carry Naked Cowboy oysters, they will be joined its official representative, famous for his appearances in Time Square, to honor the close of oyster season.
